ABOUT
THE DEPARTMENT

The department was established in 1975. Today we are located in both Aalborg and Copenhagen in two lovely locations at the harbour front. We are more than 250 employees, and we have around 1,200 students in Copenhagen and Aalborg.
Our research and study programmes are rooted in sustainability and green transition.
This means that we conduct research in circular economy, technology, urban, energy and environmental planning, but also sustainable transition and design.
Sustainability is evident in our work with environmental assessment and marine management. And in terms of surveying and land use, sustainability manifests itself in our work with nature restoration and climate adaptation.
Society is constantly developing digitally, and for this reason, we also work with responsible technology development based on real-life issues.
Our problem-oriented approach and close collaboration with the business community and public organisations constitute the foundation of all our study programmes. And our engineering programmes are among the best in Europe.
