Geoinformatics

The research and teaching of the research group is conducted in the following fields:

  • Digital Mapping
  • Geographical Information Systems (GIS)
  • Global Positioning System (GPS)
  • Photogrammetry
  • Surveying

In this way the research group covers the total process from data collection, processing (GPS, surveying and photogrammetry), generalisation, presentation (digital mapping and GIS) to linking between graphic (digital maps) and non-graphic (alphanumeric) data bases, system implementation, data analyses and uses (GIS).
Furthermore, the research group conducts research in non-linear adjustment, recursive adjustment and Kalman filters, etc.

Some of the staff is participating in the Centre for Three-dimensional Geographic Information.

The research group mainly teaches at the Surveying Programme, but is also giving courses at the study programmes for structural and civil engineering. Furthermore we implement e-learning programmes with international participation.
